Benefits Overview

Health, Dental and Vision Insurance

  • Choose from 3 medical coverage options: MedStar Select, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield PPO or Kaiser Permanente HMO*
  • Dental coverage through Delta Dental PPO
  • Vision coverage through Group Vision Services

Life, Accidental Death and Disability Benefits

  • Employer-paid Basic Life/AD&D Insurance coverage equal to 1X your annual base salary
  • Supplemental Life/AD&D Insurance coverage in amounts equal to 1X, 2X or 3X your base pay, up to a combined maximum of $1,500,000
  • Dependent Life Insurance coverage
  • Employer-paid Short-Term Disability—partial salary continuation for up to 26 weeks for approved disability leave
  • Employer-paid Long-Term Disability Insurance—covers 60% of your base annual salary, up to a $15,000 monthly maximum

Retirement Savings Plans 403(b)

  • Tax-deferred savings
  • MedStar may match 50% of your contributions, up to a maximum of 6% of your earnings
  • Eligible for employer match after one year of service and working 1,000 hours or more per year

Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Up to $2,650/year for your healthcare account
  • Up to $5,000/year for dependent care expenses

Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Accrual of 25 days of PTO per year (0 to 2 years) at a rate of 7.69 hours per pay period. For 2+ years, 30 days of PTO per year at a rate of 9.23 hours per pay period. PTO balances roll over each year up to a maximum of 240 hours (0 to 2 years) and 320 hours (2+ years).**
  • 7 holidays and 2 personal days per year
  • 5 days paid time off for CME per year

Professional Expense Reimbursement

  • Generous allowance and reimbursed annually for professional expenses, including CME, books/software and dues to one professional society
  • Reimbursement for state licenses, CDS, DEA and board certification/recertification
