Position Summary:
MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner within their Acute Pain department. In this role, the nurse practitioner shall provide clinical and professional medical services to patients consistent with accepted standards of medical practice and consistent with the reasonable productivity standards adopted from time to time by MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology. This provider will perform clinical functions as part of the Acute Pain Service (APS) at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The provider will be the only APS NP there and will be responsible for obtaining APS clinical consults from surgeons (and other patients from Pre-Anesthesia Testing) for high-risk, chronic pain, chronic opioid use, nerve block patients, epidural or peripheral nerve block catheter patients, and other consults as requested by surgeons/other providers. In addition, the provider will be responsible for performing H&Ps, creating assessment and care plans for APS patients, post-op visits, educational activities for the patients, and updating documentation in the EMR.As an MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology employee, you can expect:
