Position Summary:

Position Summary:
MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking motivated advanced practice providers to join our growing Medical ICU (MICU)/Neuro-Critical Care (NCCU) units, as well as our Emergency Response & Procedural Team(s).

In conjunction with an Intensivist and Neuro-Intensivist, advanced practice providers lead, coordinate, and provide comprehensive care in a 15-bed MICU/NCCU. The APP participates in bedside procedures including (but not limited to) central line placement, comprehensive bedside ultrasound, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, dialysis catheter insertion, chest tube insertion/removal, and lumbar puncture.

Additionally, the advanced practice providers lead our Rapid & Sepsis Response Teams, providing emergent bedside analysis and coordination of care throughout the hospital setting. Moreover, with significant expertise in bedside procedures, the advanced practice providers provide necessary interventions within all the Medical (MICU) and Surgical (SICU) units at MedStar Franklin Square, as well as throughout the hospital.

Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours) with rotating shifts. Day and night coverage and weekends required. Possibility for full-time night shift and weekend option available upon discussion.

Education/Licensure:
Current BLS/ACLS certification. Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant program, board-certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and registered/certified by the Maryland Board of Physicians (MD BOP.)  Graduate of an accredited NP program and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.

Experience:
One year of hospital medicine preferred, ideally within a critical care or neuro-critical care setting, with experience in advanced procedures. New graduates may apply.
