Position Summary:

Breast Surgeon, Regional Director of Breast Health – MedStar Health in partnership with MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute

MedStar Baltimore's Department of Surgery, in partnership with the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute, is seeking a fellowship-trained breast surgeon to serve as the Regional Director of Breast Health for MedStar's Baltimore region. This is an incredible opportunity for a candidate looking to help grow an NAPBC-accredited regional program. Candidates should be excellent communicators and clinicians, have exceptional surgical technique, and have leadership qualities with strong interest in supporting resident/medical student education.

The ideal candidate should have at least five years of clinical experience after completion of their accredited breast fellowship program. The candidate will join our two current breast surgeons, as well as our entire multidisciplinary team, which includes medical oncology, radiation oncology, genetic counseling, breast imaging, pathology, and plastic surgery, housed at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Cancer Institute. The Institute is located at the region's flagship hospital, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC), which recently opened a new 80,000-square-foot operating room pavilion and is home to a long-standing, fully accredited general surgery residency.

MedStar Health is a large, not-for-profit healthcare corporation providing services in central/southern Maryland and the District of Columbia. As part of their Distributed Care Delivery Network, MedStar operates four acute care hospitals that provide inpatient services in the Baltimore region. This region comprises MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar Union Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, and over fourteen outpatient sites. Opportunities for research/product development exist within the MedStar Health Research Institute and the MedStar Innovation Institute.
