Chair of the Department of Medicine, MedStar Washington Hospital Center

MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a not-for-profit, 912-bed, level 1 trauma, academic teaching hospital is a respected top facility in the Washington region in the areas of cardiology and heart surgery, cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, orthopaedics, pulmonology, and urology.

We are looking for a dynamic physician to lead the Department of Medicine. The Chair is responsible for all clinical, educational, research, quality, and administrative activities of the department and is the face of the department within the hospital, MedStar, and the community. The Chair should embody the MedStar Health values of service, patient first, integrity, respect, innovation, and teamwork.

In this role, the Chair will oversee the sections of pulmonary/critical care medicine, hematology/oncology, hospitalist medicine, general internal medicine/primary care, endocrinology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and infectious disease. In addition, the Chair oversees educational programs with medical students, residents, and fellows in the department.
