Chair of Pathology and Medical Director – MedStar Washington Hospital Center

The Department of Pathology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is recruiting for a Chair of Pathology and Medical Director. MedStar Washington Hospital Center is an 850-bed acute care academic medical center, the largest in Washington, D.C., and is part of MedStar Health, serving as a major tertiary care hospital for the metropolitan D.C. area.

The Chair of Pathology candidate must be board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology in addition to being board-certified in Hematopathology. The candidate should have at least five years of experience, including previous laboratory leadership. Interest and/or experience in bone and soft tissue pathology is also desirable.

The Chair would be part of an eight-member group and would share general pathology duties with the team, as well as provide specialty support in Hematopathology. The Chair will oversee the clinical laboratory, which includes systemwide microbiology services.
