MedStar Emergency Physicians (MEP), part of MedStar Medical Group, is composed of nine top-tier emergency departments in the mid-Atlantic region. We are committed to practicing state-of-the-art, patient-first emergency care and furthering our specialty through the development of innovative programs in emergency preparedness, information technology, transport medicine, event medicine, emergency ultrasound, critical care, sports medicine, and healthcare policy.
MedStar St. Mary's Hospital is nestled in the waterside community of Leonardtown, Maryland, and is a full-service hospital, delivering state-of-the-art emergency, acute inpatient, and outpatient care. St. Mary's Hospital has been a part of the Southern Maryland community for more than 100 years. A refresh of the Emergency Department (ED)'s main lobby and waiting area has also begun. The ED treats approximately 45,000 patients annually with an admission rate of 20%.
MedStar St. Mary's Hospital is a key contributor to systemwide priorities in the domains of health and wellness, chronic disease prevention and management, cancer, behavioral health, access to addiction care, and services that encompasses mental health, social services, and transportation.
