Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist, Hematology-Oncology Division

The Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center announces the availability of a staff faculty position in gastrointestinal medical oncology for a board-certified medical oncologist.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for the management of hospitalized and ambulatory gastrointestinal cancer patients with an emphasis on medical oncology in an interdisciplinary setting and will participate in clinical research, inpatient consultation, and resident/fellow education.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a 950-bed, acute care academic medical center located in midtown Washington, D.C. Along with MedStar Georgetown University Medical Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center is part of the MedStar Health System and is the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in Washington, D.C., serving as a major tertiary care hospital for the region. The Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center actively participates with the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University in clinical care and fellow education, as well as translational, clinical, and population research. The Hematology-Oncology section at the Washington Cancer Institute includes 14 full-time physicians and the attending physician staff in the Department of Medicine includes >100 full-time teaching faculty and >400 voluntary staff. Staff faculty physicians manage hospitalized and ambulatory patients in an interdisciplinary setting and take an active role in the implementation of clinical research protocols and practice guidelines.
