MedStar's Heart Rhythm service line has provided cutting-edge cardiac arrhythmia care since its establishment in 1985. Today, it is the largest heart and vascular service line in the MedStar System and continues to grow. Our program is the region's leading referral center. Our physicians are internationally recognized experts. And our program has become a widely sought-after training and education center and driver of state-of-the-art clinical trials. We've cared for patients with cardiac arrhythmias since we opened the region's first program dedicated to these conditions in 1985.

We are seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Heart Rhythm team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. In this role, the NP/PA would focus on pre-procedure management, including histories and physicals, admitting and discharging patients, performing consultations in the hospital, and managing patients in the outpatient clinic. They will be working in a well-staffed facility with immediate access to experienced APP peers, as well as attending physicians, all of whom will be trusted and supporting mentors to promote learning, growth, and career development.

Work responsibility will be four 10-hour shifts a week during the day. There will also be rotating weekends, but no nighttime or on-call duties.

Cardiac experience is a plus but not required. Applications from new graduates are welcome!

Nurse practitioners must be an ACNP. We cannot accept FNPs for this role.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: Graduation from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.
  • Experience: Cardiac experience is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
