We are looking for a physician assistant or acute care nurse practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Surgery (Spine) team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. We are one of the largest groups of orthopaedic subspecialists in the Washington, D.C., area and are a prime referral center for some of the most complex cases. No matter how simple or complex the condition, our team of fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons has the expertise to help.

The advanced practice provider in this position will join our existing orthopaedic spine team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center that consists of one spine surgeon and support staff. When needed, they will also collaborate with the six other Ortho APPs in the hospital.

When they are in the inpatient setting, they will be managing post-op surgical patients and be responsible for clinical care and interdisciplinary management with other team members. They will also collaborate and partner with resident learners. In the outpatient setting, they will mostly have an independent ortho clinic and complete some administrative tasks but will have similar support as the physicians.

The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, roughly between 6:30am and 5:30pm, depending on inpatient needs. They will work 40 hours per week and there will be no evenings, nights, or weekends included in their schedule.

The ideal candidate will have ortho experience, but new grads are welcome to apply!
