MedStar St. Mary's is currently recruiting an experienced physician assistant to join our exceptional team of providers. Qualified applicants will have at least two years of experience outside of their education.

The ideal candidate will share our vision, practice the highest quality of care, and want to be part of a world-class department of emergency medicine. We are committed to practicing state-of-the-art, patient-first emergency care and furthering our specialty through the development of innovative programs in emergency preparedness, information technology, transport medicine, event medicine, emergency ultrasound, telemedicine, critical care, and sports medicine.

MedStar Emergency Physicians fosters a collaborative team dynamic of physicians and PAs. PA empowerment is evident through early training, advancement of clinical skills, and leadership development. Committed to developing the strongest emergency medicine PAs in the region, a one-year, CME-accredited postgraduate training program augments standard PA school with a series of lectures and workshops, including activities such as SIM lab, procedural cadaver labs, slit lamp workshop, 12-lead EKG recognition, and more. A CAQ preparation track cultivates continued knowledge and training coupled with opportunities to earn credentials in non-core, advanced procedures in emergency medicine. MedStar has developed a PA and physician LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Development) program, a yearlong professional development course, to identify and nurture PA leadership talent. MedStar Emergency Physicians leadership includes the Director of Advanced Practice, Lead APC of Education and Training, PA Policy and Engagement Advisor, and site-specific Lead PAs and PA Education Coordinators. Further professional development can be found through numerous teaching opportunities, including precepting PA students, post-grad training program instruction, SIM, and educating and mentoring junior PAs. Furthermore, MedStar provides financial support for PAs to pursue specified emergency medicine training above and beyond traditional CME opportunities, allowing PAs to practice medicine at the top of their license, education, and training.

MedStar Emergency Physicians is recognized by the AAPA Center for Healthcare Leadership and Management as an Employer of Excellence. MEP is proud to be a role model for employers nationwide.
