Position Summary:

MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology (MMGA) is seeking a dynamic and energetic leader to fill the role of Medical Director of Ambulatory Anesthesia. The Medical Director will oversee the MedStar Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) throughout the D.C. and Central/Southern Maryland regions. In collaboration with the center administrators and the boards of directors at each ASC, the Medical Director will provide administrative and clinical leadership to anesthesia operations of the ASCs. Duties include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing policies and protocols, ensuring each center is appropriately staffed to accommodate required sites of coverage, actively participating in the budget process for the ASCs, being accountable for financial performance related to Anesthesia, serving on various committees at each ASC as they relate to center operations and clinical quality, and providing clinical services at each ASC to cover scheduled and acute unscheduled gaps in coverage. The leader in this role will work closely with the center administrators to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the ASC environment.
