Position Summary:

Sarcoma Medical Oncologist

The Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Department of Medicine at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) are recruiting a staff/faculty member with interest and expertise in bone and soft tissue sarcomas, including GIST.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is an 850-bed acute care academic medical center and, along with MedStar Georgetown University Medical Center, is part of MedStar Health, serving as a major tertiary care hospital for the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area. The Washington Cancer Institute (WCI) at MedStar Washington Hospital Center actively partners with the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center in clinical care research and fellow/resident education. WCI has a long-standing history as a sarcoma referral center for the mid-Atlantic states area with expertise in orthopaedic and surgical oncology. The Hematology/Oncology Division has active clinical and research education programs, including a fully accredited, freestanding fellowship program. The candidate will be responsible for clinical care and consultation, and will be expected to participate in the multidisciplinary, multi-center sarcoma conferences of MedStar Health, clinical research trials and fellow/resident education. Full-time MedStar Washington Hospital Center staff are eligible for academic faculty appointments at Georgetown University.
