MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, a member of MedStar Health, is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Minimally Invasive Gynecologic or Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgeon to join an established practice with one other Urogynecologic Surgeon. MedStar Franklin Square is a community teaching hospital licensed for 350 beds with accredited residency programs in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Obstetrics-Gynecology. The hospital is also certified as a Primary Stroke Center. The hospital, which opened its new patient tower with all private rooms in November of 2011, is located in northeastern Baltimore County of Maryland with a broad community as its service area.

MedStar Health is the largest provider of health services in the Baltimore-Washington region with 10 member hospitals and numerous geographically-dispersed ambulatory services.

The position involves an active clinical practice and resident education. Candidates should have completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery or Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgery or possess similar training and experience. We are seeking a physician who has extensive experience in the surgical management of fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic pain; who has experience in da Vinci robotics; and who can demonstrate interest and experience in resident education. The physician will also be involved in the department’s quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Opportunities for clinical and basic science research can be made available through MedStar Health’s Research Institute. Our Gynecology Service consists of subspecialists in Gyn Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Approximately 1,800 gynecologic procedures are performed annually. The candidate will work collaboratively with other MedStar GYN subspecialists to provide regional services to the greater Baltimore area and to expand system-wide collaborations. Our parallel obstetrical service of approximately 3000 annual discharges is housed in a high amenity, 2-story Women’s Pavilion and is supported by an AIUM-accredited Prenatal Diagnostic Center and a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 23-bed Level 3 NICU, including 19 rooms with accommodations for multiples.
