Nurse Practitioner (Southern Floater) - Acute Pain Service

Position Summary:

MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology (MMGA) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner within their Acute Pain department. This position will act as the department's floater and travel is required. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner shall provide clinical and professional medical services to patients consistent with accepted standards of medical practice and consistent with the reasonable productivity standards adopted from time to time by MMGA. This provider will perform clinical functions as part of the Acute Pain Service (APS) and travel between MedStar Washington Hospital Center, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, and MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The provider will be obtaining APS clinical consults from surgeons (and other patients from Pre-Anesthesia Testing) for high-risk, chronic pain, chronic opioid use, nerve block patients, epidural or peripheral nerve block catheter patients, and other consults as request by surgeons/other providers. In addition, the provider will be responsible for performing H&Ps, creating assessment and care plans for APS patients, post-op visits, educational activities for the patients, and updating documentation in the EMR.
