Position Summary:

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's General Internal Medicine Division is looking for nurse practitioners with primary care experience to join our well-established academic General Internal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatrics practice at 2233 Wisconsin Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. It is also home to the outpatient continuity clinic for our Internal Medicine residency program.

In this outpatient setting, the individual selected will co-manage primary care patients with our attendings, providing longitudinal primary care as well as urgent care visits. We hope to foster a team-based approach to care in order to improve patient access to a clinician. The selected individual will also assist with our practice's medication refill requests, having a provider review the appropriateness of refill requests and ensuring appropriate follow-up and lab monitoring can help to improve the quality of care provided by our academic clinic. Finally, our nurse practitioner colleague would be involved in triage and evaluation/management of patient portal messages for our practice.
