We are looking for a physician assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery Knee and Hip team at our MedStar Union Memorial Hospital location in Baltimore, MD. MedStar Union Memorial Hospital has a long history of providing nationally recognized care to patients with muscle and bone pain and injuries, in association with the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute.

This provider would be supporting Dr. Michael Jacobs in the clinic and the OR. This location for this opportunity is based out of Union Memorial but there will be travel to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, Timonium, Westminster, Bel Air, and MedStar Harbor Hospital, depending on the day of the week. There is a consistent schedule every week.

The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week depending on clinic/OR time. No call or weekends.

Michael A. Jacobs, MD, is a top-ranked, nationally recognized leader in hip and knee replacement surgery with more than 35 years of experience in orthopedic surgery, teaching, and prosthetic development.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Jacobs has been Head Orthopedic Surgeon for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team. He is a member of several prestigious professional societies, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and American Orthopedic Association. Dr. Jacobs is a board-certified surgeon who graduated from the Harvard orthopedic program and has been part of the orthopedic staff at Johns Hopkins since 1985.

The ideal candidate will have ortho experience, but new grads are welcome to apply!

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Experience: The ideal candidate will have ortho experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
