We are looking for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our Cardiology team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Georgetown is home to internationally recognized experts in cardiovascular diagnostics, treatment, and surgery. Advanced imaging technology allows our doctors and surgeons to treat patients with more precise and less invasive techniques than ever before.

This position is a dedicated outpatient cardiology role. A strong clinical background and the ability to diagnose, treat, and manage complex cardiovascular disorders is paramount. Typical patient types include post-hospital and ER discharge cardiology follow-up and preoperative risk assessment for non-cardiac procedures/operations (i.e., solid organ transplants, oncological treatments), as well as management of heart failure, ischemic heart disease, structural heart disease, hypertensive heart disease, and other general cardiovascular disorders.

The ideal candidate will have cardiology experience. Outpatient management experience preferred.

Hours are Monday through Friday, day shift with no nights, no weekends, and no call. This is a salaried position with salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: Master's or higher. Graduate from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate state licensure.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current NP or PA license and CDS in Washington, D.C.; current DEA registry; BLS certification.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience, preferably in cardiology.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
