Position Summary:
The nurse practitioner (APRN) is a professional nurse with advanced knowledge and assessment skills in a specialty area of pain and palliative medicine. Duties will be performed to assist families with navigating the healthcare system, to foster seamless rather than fragmented care, and to maximize quality of life for the patient and their family. The APRN demonstrates the role functions of advanced clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and leader/change agent. The APRN responds to individual, professional, and societal needs related to the experience of serious or life-threatening illness through the nursing process.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited nursing school required. Graduation from a nurse practitioner program accredited by a national nursing accrediting body required.
  • Experience: Experience in palliative care, geriatrics, and/or pain management preferred.
  • Skills: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
