MedStar Health has a part-time need for advanced practice clinician hospitalists to provide inpatient internal medicine care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds, and planning for discharge. Participate in call schedule. Facilitate coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team. Prepare written prescription orders, medications, and controlled substances under Maryland and federal rules, regulations, and law. Coordinate family education with nursing staff, ancillary staff, and other resources. Follow all established HIMS policies for maintenance and signing of medical records. Submit timely and complete patient bills. Receive inpatient referrals from primary care center and admit from Emergency Department. Maintain daily caseload of 10+ hospital inpatients. Contribute to the achievement of department goals and adhere to policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards. Comply with government and accreditation regulations.
