Physician Assistant Needed for General Surgery at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center
MedStar Health is seeking a physician assistant to join us in this dynamic, well-rounded role, primarily covering gynecology/oncology and thoracic surgery, while also covering orthopedic, neuro, vascular, plastics, general surgery, and bariatric. Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence. Growing team with great room for growth. Collaborative atmosphere within group when managing OR/inpatient time and PTO; extra shift incentives available.
Due to our continued growth, we have a new opportunity for four additional advanced practice providers to be embedded in our General Surgery Service (inpatient) at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. We want learners interested in growing—students who are curious and strive for excellence in all that they do. These APPs will be an integral part of the care team doing floor work, covering OR cases, etc. They will be on service with surgical faculty, medical students, and residents.
These APPs will be on a particular service for a set rotation, and then rotate to a different service and eventually back to the original service to ensure well-roundedness and broad skill acquisition (i.e., colorectal one month, MIS/bariatrics one month, acute care surgery one month, back to colorectal).
We will need night coverage from Sunday to Thursday night with a 12-hour shift in house, but again with a team of four it is one Sunday night a month and one weeknight per week. As we are an HRO, there will always be senior residents in house as well to ensure no one is left on an island and we have a safe environment for patient care.
As a MedStar Medical Group clinician, you can expect:
- A competitive salary and signing bonus
- Eligibility for quality and productivity bonuses
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid malpractice insurance
- Generous paid time off
- CME leave and CME allowance
- Retirement saving plan – 403(b) with % employer match
