Research Faculty Position – New Full-Time Position

The Department of Family Medicine (familymedicine.georgetown.edu) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a full-time faculty position. This position includes 0.5-0.6 FTE clinical time at the MedStar Health Family Medicine at Spring Valley faculty practice and 0.4-0.5 FTE research time for the Department of Family Medicine CAPRICORN (Capitol Area Primary Care Research Network).

All research time is sponsored by the MedStar Health Research Institute and will include research assistant/biostatistician and grant-writing support. Responsibilities include representing Family Medicine at institutional research meetings; research program development; implementation and dissemination for CAPRICORN; grant-funding initiatives; contributing to interprofessional research projects for faculty, residents, and students; and dissemination of department scholarly work.

This faculty position will collaborate with the CAPRICORN Director, Vice Chair for Research, and the MedStar Health Research Institute. The ideal candidate must possess a passion for population health, practice-based research, and scholarly activity. The Research Faculty position supports the CAPRICORN Director, Vice Chair for Research, and Department Chair in a continued tradition of innovative, community-oriented research and educational excellence. Opportunities exist to precept residents in inpatient and outpatient settings. MD/DO required. Two years of research experience preferred. Current ABFM/AOBFP certification or equivalent required.

Position includes appointment at a non-tenured assistant or associate professor level with commensurate salary. Advanced appointment and salary are dependent upon qualifications. Inpatient family medicine skills preferred.
